How do completion rates vary for part-time students in Ohio?

Completing an award in higher education has important implications for lifetime earnings, but typical completion rate metrics only include full-time, first-time students. Given that part-time students are an increasing percentage of Ohio undergraduates (and over 20 percent of AICUO-member undergraduate students), part-time completion rates are vital to understanding Ohio higher education.

The Tableau dashboard above displays disaggregated completion rates for the 2012-13 academic year cohort. While as expected, fewer part-time students complete an award within eight years than their full-time peers, completion rates still outpace other sectors in Ohio. Institutions can continue to expand on proven interventions, such as ensuring good-fit financial aid policies and advising, to support part-time student success.
